As Network Marketers What Do We Stand For.

I read a post yesterday by my colleague Alan Turner that really got me thinking, and basically it asks what are we doing to make ourselves stand out from the crowd. What is our U.S.P. or unique selling proposition and why is it important to have one?

Well it is important to develop a unique selling proposition in order for your visitors to grasp what you are all about. This is important because people are attracted to people, but only the people they can relate to.

Taking the time to figure out your own U.S.P. will also help you identify the audience you are aiming to attract, and probably one of the easiest ways to figure this out is by asking yourself why you are in this business. Answering that question will help you figure out your own uniqueness.

Watch the video below to see how I started to figure out mine!

You see we all have slightly different reasons for doing what we are doing and it is these differences that will attract certain people to us.

Take my own case for example I am a bloke approaching retirement age with a passion for helping people and living life to the absolute best that I can. If I were to sit back and wait for my pension, as loads of folk expect me to do, then I will just spend the rest of my years surviving and scraping some sort of existence.  This is not for me and this is why I have decided to THRIVE and not just survive.

There are millions of folk just like me and it is up to us how we live life, we can sit back and accept what is offered or we can ‘Decide To Thrive’!

Dave, I want to applaud you for being one of the few who want to live life to the fullest and is not prepared to sit on your laurels waiting on benefits and a Govt. pension!

It wasn’t until NES 3 and some time I spent with Sonia Stringer that I understood about “My Ideal Prospect” and from there needed to understand and develop my UVP and USP. One thing led to another so to speak.

I am really glad you have discovered your USP so quickly, I found myself on a bot of a journey as I am questioning a lot of what I do in this business of mine. I pretty much have it figured out and I can honestly say that I feel much better about my business once I had it figured out, it helps with focus and with getting you to your goals.

Thank’s Alan, I always knew the value of having a unique selling proposition but never actually got around to sorting out just what is was and your post got me thinking again. So I did a bit of brainstorming and came up with the ‘Decide to Thrive’ idea!

Thank’s for the Facebook connection also, take care.

Great post Dave. I agree with your philosophy about thriving. While many would prefer to kick back I actually think we stay younger by being engaged. I know my dad at 86 is still striving to have fun and work hard….makes sense to me too.

Never stop living is my motto Terry and I love mixing with folk who do the same. No slippers and telly for me!

David,

There’s living and then there’s LIVING! It’s clear that you are doing the latter! I really enjoyed Alan’s post as well. Your video above really speaks to some issues I think many of us deal with. We all got into network marketing for a specific reason. That reason can change over time, but we need to keep it in focus in order to help drive our desire to THRIVE!

What’s amazing is that we all want the same thing but in different ways and at different times. I just had a prospect say no to me about the opportunity although he is also approaching retirement. His justification was that his goals are different than mine. While this may superficially be true, at the essence it is not. We all desire health, money and relationships.

Anyone who disagrees I believe is to be living in denial saying that because they don’t know how to get those 3.

That’s right John, I would say we are all wanting the same thing, but there again, maybe there are just a few of us wanting it.

Hi Dave,

I’ve decided to thrive! There is talk here in the U.S. of increasing the retirement age, again. It’s a shame that some people will have to work all of their lives and will never be able to retire. I refuse to accept that scenario. Let’s thrive!
